Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues
- Use ELD to log work/rest periods and miles spent driving
- Retain fuel/toll receipts, BOL’s and any applicable paperwork
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Collect and verify load instructions
- Communicate with dispatch, safety, etc. timely
- Report defects, accidents or violations accurate; and timely
Skills:
- Safe and defensive driving skills
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent major driving violations. No Drug, Alcohol and Criminal convictions.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
